LL-37
Preclinicalaka Cathelicidin, CAP-18 fragment
Your body's own antibiotic. A broad antimicrobial and immune-signalling peptide.
Mechanism
The active fragment of human cathelicidin, a host-defense peptide that kills microbes directly and also runs inflammation, wound healing, and immune signalling. Double-edged though: too much of it is implicated in some inflammatory skin conditions.
Regulatory & Safety Status
Research stage, not approved as a therapeutic. Mostly a lab compound for now.
